GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip — Rage against terror in the name of Islam poured out
across the Muslim world Saturday, with aggrieved believers storming the
headquarters of terrorist offices and setting fire to effigies of Osama Bin
Laden and Abu Musab al-Zarqawi while demanding an end to Muslim violence and
justice for the victims.
 In
Syria, hundreds of demonstrators stormed Hezbollah offices, breaking windows,
knocking down doors and demanding that the organization cease taking hostages
and bombing neighboring countries in the name of Allah.
Angry Muslims in Gaza set fire to the buildings that house the Hamas and al-Fatah
terrorist organizations and vented their anger over the hijacking of the
Religion of Peace by misguided radicals.
“These people have staged suicide attacks on innocent people, young and old!”
yelled an unidentified man, as he burned a green Hamas flag on the sidewalk.
“They have literally blown apart the elderly on buses, teenagers in shopping
malls, and diners in cafes. They do it in the name of my religion. This is
disgusting! We’re going to show them how we feel.”
A
car carrying Islamic Jihad members was surrounded by angry Muslim
demonstrators, who threw stones at the vehicle, demanding that the violence
against innocent people end.
“We
are normally peaceful,” said a woman clutching a Qur’an, “since Islam is a
peaceful religion. But these terrorists are giving our religion a bad name with
the terrible things they do in the name of our God. We don’t want to hurt them,
but they leave us no choice, because we have to stop these violent extremists.
No one will take Islam seriously if we don’t.”
Anger spilled over in Western countries as well. In London, protesters held up
signs reading “Burn in Hell Osama” and chanted support for boycotts against
Muslim countries that sponsor terror. “This is a grave issue,” said a mosque
leader. “These al-Qaeda types stage over a thousand deadly attacks a year,
murdering a great many innocent men, woman and even children – and they say they
serve Allah in what they do. If we don’t shut them down, who will?”
 Other
Muslim protesters shouted threats against the terrorists. Many held signs
showing the victims of Islamic violence over the last four years in India, the
Sudan, Algeria, Afghanistan, New York, Pakistan, Israel, Russia, Chechnya, the
Philippines, Indonesia, Nigeria, Thailand, Spain, Egypt, Bangladesh, Saudi
Arabia, Iraq, Ingushetia, Dagestan, Britain, Turkey, Kabardino-Balkaria,
Morocco, Yemen, Lebanon, France, Uzbekistan, Gaza, Tunisia, Kosovo, Bosnia,
Mauritania, Kenya, Eritrea, Syria, Somalia, California, Kuwait, Virginia,
Ethiopia, Iran, Jordan, United Arab Emirates, Louisiana, Texas, Tanzania, Sri
Lanka, Pennsylvania, Belgium, Denmark, East Timor, Qatar, Maryland, Tajikistan,
the Netherlands and Scotland.
"We gonna' help Muhammad open up a can of whup-ass on these Jihadis," a bearded
demonstrator in Copenhagen yelled, as nearby women in hijabs nodded
enthusiastically.
 In
Washington, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) held a passionate
press conference to address the problem of Muslim terror.
“This is an outrage… what these people do in the name of Islam!” shouted Ibrahim
Hooper, the CAIR spokesman, whose infuriation was evident by swelled neck veins
and abundant sweat on a crimson forehead. “It’s a wonder that we Muslims can
even sleep at night with this sort of awful violence taking place everyday in the
name of our peaceful religion.”
Hooper trembled slightly with rage and his voice broke occasionally as he went
down a list of bloody attacks from just the last four years in which at least a
dozen people were murdered in each. The list of over 400 such Islamic hate
crimes included the World Trade Center, Beslan, and Darfur.
“Each one of these acts of violence was committed by someone doing so explicitly
to further Islamic rule. You can’t imagine how sick this makes me!” he
exploded. “As long as we allow this to go on in the world, we Muslims have
nothing to complain about. Frankly, I don’t understand how our victims manage
to stay so patient with us.”
A
reporter asked the CAIR spokesman about the Danish cartoons that some in the
religion have found insulting.
“What are you stupid?” shouted Hooper, pounding his fist on the table, and
appearing to need restraint from comrades. “You’re asking me about cartoons
that are insulting? Cartoons? Hey, here’s something that’s insulting…
having your throat slit by religious fundamentalists. Or how about seeing your
teenage daughter’s head rolling in the driveway after it’s lopped off by
Islamists. Or maybe having the Mujahideen break down your front door at night
and turn your family into hamburger meat with automatic weapons?
“You think we have time to protest cartoons when people are out there committing
murder in the name of Allah?” asked the CAIR spokesman, shaking with anger.
“You think Islam is a joke and that we’re all a bunch of self-absorbed whiners
with no maturity or compassion?
“What kind of religion do you think Islam really is?”
